Meet Scott Miller
Bradenton Criminal Defense Attorney
Attorney Scott Miller has been a criminal defense lawyer in Sarasota and
Bradenton since 1995. He originally began his career in 1993 as an assistant
public defender in North Florida, but relocated to Bradenton after accepting
a position with the State Attorney’s Office as an assistant prosecutor
here in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit. Unlike most criminal attorneys,
Mr. Miller gained very valuable experience practicing both sides of the
courtroom before ever entering private practice.
Mr. Miller opened his own law practice in 1997, and has been vigorously
defending his clients ever since. He has defended his clients through
countless jury trials, suppression hearings, motions to dismiss, sentencing
hearings, appeals, and various evidentiary proceedings. Mr. Miller is
a sole practitioner and along with his paralegal, Holly, are the only
two people that his clients directly communicate with during his representation.
Mr. Miller makes himself very accessible to his clients because he knows
how stressful it is to be charged with a crime.
Mr. Miller is licensed to practice before all Florida courts, including
the Supreme Court of Florida, He is also licensed to practice before all
three Florida federal courts. These are the Northern, Middle, and Southern
District Courts of Florida.
Mr. Miller and his wife met while attending Florida State University as
undergraduates. They married after he graduated law school, and currently
reside in Bradenton. Mr. Miller’s wife received her degree in Elementary
Education and taught school in Manatee County. They have raised four beautiful
children, three boys and a girl. Their oldest attends Boston College School
of Law. Their second oldest attends FSU studying Marketing, but is currently
taking flying lessons because she wants to be an airline pilot. Their
third oldest was chosen as the best high school clarinetist in the state
